Lab Experiment: Archive of Invisible Things

Our creative research on invisibility leads us to examine how invisible things are perceived, discussed, and experienced across cultures. We rely on unseen elements in our everyday world to give us strength, hope and even life itself. Simultaneously, however, there are invisible forces that also oppress, silence and ruthlessly take lives.

How does that which is invisible influence our lives? Is there a difference among cultures in how invisible things are perceived, discussed, and experienced? The Invisibility Lab is building an Archive of Invisible Things by inviting participants to anonymously share their thoughts on the unseen elements that exist in our world and how they impact their lives and relationships.

We invite visitors to fuel this research and to add something to the Archive of Invisible Things by filling out one of our Archive Sheets during an Invisibility Lab event, or through online digital questionnaires like the one posted here.

The physical paper worksheets gathered at our events are preserved in binders and will likely be published in either book form, online, or both.

The data collected from all sources is analyzed and interpreted through different creative disciplines and transformed into new works including audio scores, video, text-based art, performance work, songs, multi-media installations, and more.
